Bespoke Suit in Bangkok: Prices, Process and How to Get It Right (2026)
A bespoke suit in Bangkok usually costs between ฿7,000 and ฿50,000 or more, depending on the fabric and how it is made. A standard order takes two to three days with at least one fitting, and 24-hour express is possible. At Peninsula Bespoke Tailor in Silom, a bespoke suit (jacket and trousers) starts from ฿7,900 (about $250).
Bespoke vs made-to-measure vs ready-to-wear
Bangkok has hundreds of tailors, and almost all of them use the word “bespoke.” They do not all mean the same thing by it. This guide explains what a real bespoke suit involves, what it should cost, what happens each day of the process, and how to tell a good tailor from a tourist trap. It is written by Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, a family-run tailor on Silom Road that has made suits in Bangkok since 1969. We mention our own prices and process where it helps, and we give you the questions to ask any tailor, including us.
The biggest difference between suits sold in Bangkok is not the fabric. It is how the pattern is made.
| Ready-to-wear | Made-to-measure | Bespoke | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pattern | Standard size (e.g. 40R) | Standard template, adjusted to your size | Drafted from scratch for your body |
| Measurements | None | Usually 5 to 15 | 20 to 30+, plus posture and shape |
| Fittings | None | Often one, or none | At least one, often two or more |
| Fixes uneven shoulders, a forward neck, a seat or a belly | No | Partly | Yes, that is the point |
| Typical Bangkok price | ฿3,000 to ฿10,000 | ฿5,000 to ฿15,000 | ฿7,000 to ฿50,000+ |
Made-to-measure is not a bad suit. It can fit well on a standard build. But if one shoulder sits lower, you stand slightly forward, or you are between sizes, only a pattern made from your own measurements will fix it.
The honest test is simple: ask the tailor, “Will you draft a new pattern for me, or adjust an existing one?” A real bespoke tailor answers the first one without hesitation.
At Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, every suit starts with 30 individual body measurements, a look at your posture, proportions and body balance, and a personal pattern drafted for you alone.
How much is a bespoke suit in Bangkok? (2026 prices)
Most tailored suits in Bangkok cost ฿7,000 to ฿50,000+ (roughly $200 to $1,400+). That is often a fraction of what a comparable bespoke suit costs in London, New York or Sydney. Where you land in that range comes down to three things.
| What drives the price | Lower end | Higher end |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric | Wool blends, poly-wool, cotton | Pure wool, Super 120s and up, cashmere, branded Italian and English cloth |
| Construction | Fused (glued) chest | Half-canvas or full-canvas, more hand finishing |
| Fittings and time | One fitting, express turnaround | Two or more fittings, a few extra days |
At Peninsula Bespoke Tailor, a bespoke suit (one jacket and one pair of trousers) starts from ฿7,900 (about $250). The final price depends on the fabric you choose from our 10,000+ options and the details you add. Ask for the full price in writing before anything is cut, at any tailor.
Watch out for “package” prices
Offers like “2 suits + 4 shirts + tie for ฿6,000” are common on Sukhumvit and in malls. They usually use the cheapest fabric in the shop and a fused construction. That can be fine for a one-off event, but it is not the same product as a bespoke suit priced at the same headline number.
Before you compare two quotes, make sure they list the same things:
- Which garments are included
- Fabric composition (e.g. 100% wool) and where it comes from
- Fused, half-canvas or full-canvas
- How many fittings
- Collection date and any delivery charge
How long does a bespoke suit take in Bangkok?
A standard bespoke suit at Peninsula Bespoke Tailor takes about two to three days. Selected garments can be made as 24-hour express. Here is what a typical three-day order looks like.
- Day 1 — consultation and measurements (about 1 hour). You talk through the occasion, your work and the look you want. The tailor takes 30 measurements, notes your posture and shoulder balance, and you choose fabric, lining, lapels, buttons and details. Your personal pattern is drafted that day.
- Day 2 — fitting. You try the suit in its fitting stage. The tailor checks the shoulders, back, sleeve length, waist and trouser break while you move, sit and raise your arms. Adjustments are marked on you.
- Day 3 — final fitting and collection. You try the finished suit. Any last small changes are made, and you take it home, or it is delivered to your hotel.
Short on time? Book your first appointment on the day you land. The fittings can happen at your hotel, home or office, and complimentary pickup is available in Bangkok and nearby areas, so you lose less of your trip to traffic.
Our honest advice: if your schedule allows, give it the full three days. Express is possible, but an extra fitting is the single easiest way to improve the final fit.
Choosing fabric for a bespoke suit in Bangkok
The right fabric depends on where you will actually wear the suit, not where it is made. Peninsula Bespoke Tailor carries 10,000+ fabrics from Italy, England, Australia and more.
| Fabric | Best for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Lightweight wool | All-year business suits, travel, Bangkok offices | The most versatile choice for a first bespoke suit |
| Linen | Hot weather, beach weddings, daytime events | Breathes well but creases easily, which is part of its look |
| Cotton | Casual suits, chinos, summer jackets | Softer and less formal than wool |
| Cashmere and wool-cashmere | Winter, overcoats, luxury jackets | Too warm for Bangkok’s outdoor heat |
| Silk and silk blends | Evening wear, dinner jackets | Adds sheen; better for special occasions than daily wear |
| Velvet | Tuxedo jackets, festive events | A statement piece, worn in the evening |
Tell your tailor three things: the climate back home, whether you will be outdoors or in air-conditioning, and how often you will wear it. A good tailor will steer you away from a beautiful fabric that is wrong for your life.

How to choose a bespoke tailor in Bangkok: 8 questions to ask
Ask these at any shop, including ours. A good tailor answers all of them clearly.
- Do you draft a new pattern for me, or adjust a template?
- How many measurements do you take? Look for 20 to 30, not a quick handful.
- How many fittings are included, and when?
- What exactly is this fabric? Composition and country or mill of origin.
- Is the jacket fused, half-canvas or full-canvas?
- Can I have the full price in writing?
- What happens if it does not fit when I collect it?
- Do you keep my measurements, and can I reorder from home?
Red flags: someone on the street walks you to a shop (their commission is built into your price); measurements done in five minutes with no fitting offered; a very low “package” price with vague fabric names like “Italian wool”; pressure to pay in full before you have chosen anything; and no recent reviews you can read on Google or TripAdvisor.
